§ Mr. DorrellUp to 1988–89, health authorities in England had achieved savings worth £110 million from competitive tendering of domestic, catering and laundry services. In 1989–90, authorities reported a further £10 million worth of savings from these and other services put out to tender. The anticipated new savings for 1990–91 are £10 million.
