To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received concerning the machinery by which the Court of Appeal deals with new evidence on convicted persons.

My right hon. and learned Friend has received a number of representations from Members of both Houses of Parliament, and from members of the public, about the role of the Court of Appeal in considering such cases.
