HL Deb 15 October 1990 vol 522 c717WA
Lord Denning

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the recommendations in paragraph 5 on page 268 of the report of the Archbishops' Commission on Rural England can be implemented already under Section 112 of the Education Act 1988 or whether there is any need to wait for an amendment of charities legislation.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Baroness Blatch)

The recommendations in paragraph 5 on page 268 of the report of the Archbishops' Commission on Rural Areas cannot be implemented under Section 112 of the Education Reform Act 1988, but would require changes in both education and charities legislation.
