HC Deb 30 November 1990 vol 181 c522W
Mr. McFall

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what instructions have been given to health boards in Scotland regarding the preparations for casualties arriving from any conflict in the Gulf; and what resources are being set aside to meet any such contingencies.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

[holding answer 29 November 1990]: Health boards have been instructed to consider possible arrangements for the reception and hospital treatment of any casualties who, in the event of conflict in the Gulf, might subsequently arrive in Scotland.

While facilities which might be required have been identified, at this stage no resources have been set aside specifically to meet this contingency.
