§ Mr. MacleanWe have received a great many letters and petitions from concerned members of the public and from welfare organisations who fear a resumption of exports of horses for slaughter. We intend to reflect this very real depth of public feeling in our negotiations on new Community legislation on the protection of animals during transport.
