HL Deb 29 November 1990 vol 523 c48WA
Baroness Ewart-Biggs

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many defendants have been monitored in each of the three electronic monitoring experiments; how many are currently being monitored; and how many have committed offences on bail or other violation of their bail conditions.

Earl Ferrers

Fifty defendants were electronically monitored in the course of three field trials. The trials ended earlier this year and no defendants have since been monitored. Twenty-nine defendants were arrested for bail violations or absconded in the course of the trials.
