§ Dr. David ClarkTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what investigations he is carrying out, and what consultations he has had with London zoo, to determine the type of transmission of spongiform encephalopathy in the kudu antelope which died there recently; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GummerThe state veterinary service is in close touch with London zoo about the kudu which died on 13 November. The animal's brain has been removed for laboratory examination at the central veterinary laboratory to determine whether it had a spongiform encephalopathy. The results will be made available when the examination is completed.
