To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what information he has on the effect the policy of linking rent levels in Wales as a whole to property valuations had on council rents in each district and borough council area, on a weekly basis.

Implied capital values are used in the distribution of the real part of the increase in guideline rents for subsidy purposes. It is for each authority to set its own rents having regard to its legal obligations.

For each district, guideline rent increases for the current year, including an allowance for inflation, are shown in the table:
