§ Dr. CunninghamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what provisions the Government have made to check that overseas voters who have registered for a proxy vote are still eligible to vote on the day of the election.
§ Mrs. RumboldRegistration as an elector depends upon eligibility on the qualifying date, and not on the date of any election. No routine checks are made on whether registered electors remain eligible to vote during the currency of the register on which they are included. However, it is an offence for any person, or a proxy acting on his or her behalf, to vote at any election if that person is not eligible to vote.
