To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in theOfficial Report those sections of housing statutes which determine the power and procedures whereby alternative private sector landlords may acquire a heritable title to former public sector or Scottish Special Housing Association properties.

The provision whereby private sector landlords are able to acqure a title to public sector housing stock are contained primarily in part III of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988.

Local authorities also have a general power of disposal in section 12 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 and Scottish Homes have a similar power in section 2(2)(h) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988.

New town development corporations have a general power of disposal under section 3(2) as read with sections 18–18C of the New Towns (Scotland) Act 1968.
