To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will publish a table showing for each county of England and Wales the number of outbreaks of salmonella enteritidis PT4 in 1990 to date.

Provisional figures for the first nine months of 1990 (weeks one to 39) show tht 315 outbreaks (including two or more people) of infection with salmonella enteritidis PT4 were reported to the PHLS communicable disease surveillance centre from England and Wales.

The distribution of these outbreaks by regional health authority is as follows:
