§ Mr. Garel-JonesThe Dublin European Council in June agreed that the intergovernmental conference on254W political union should adopt its own agenda. The 27–28 October European Council in Rome discussed the preparations for that IGC. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister made a statement on the outcome of that meeting to the House on 30 October.
