asked Her Majesty's Government:

Further to the statement by Lord Reay (29th October 1990, H.L. Deb. col. 1684), which dependent territories have been asked whether they wish to ratify the United Nations convention of the rights of the child, and what replies have so far been received.

All the dependent territories have been consulted, but no decisions have yet been taken on their inclusion.

Deb. col. 1683), which government departments are involved in assessing whether British domestic legislation is in line with the United Nations convention on the rights of the child, and which articles of the convention are being dealt with by which departments.

The full text of the convention on the rights of the child is being considered by the Departments of Health, Education and Science, Social Services, Environment and by the Home Office, Scottish Office, Lord Chancellor's Office, Ministry of Defence and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
