HL Deb 14 November 1990 vol 523 cc11-2WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are yet in a position to announce the results of Lord Henley's undertaking (24th May, cols. 1037–8), to give "very careful and sympathetic consideration" to income support levels for refugees, and if not, when they expect to be able to do so.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Henley)

We have concluded that there is no scope at present for a change in the relevant income support rule.
