§ Mr. Alan ClarkThe NATO conference of national armaments directors is considering ways in which the conditions for defence trade within the NATO nations can be improved. A group has been established to consider this issue and to make recommendations. This initiative is welcome and I hope that the report will give support for practical moves towards an open defence market within NATO as a whole.
