§ 28. Mr. ColvinTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what is his estimate of the number of British citizens who will seek work in other European Community countries following the implementation of the Single European Act.
§ Mr. ForthMy Department has not estimated the number of United Kingdom citizens who will seek work in other EC countries following the Single European Act. However, the Act will remove barriers facing individuals who wish to work in other countries, and will also create many new jobs. We would therefore expect that movement both into and out of the United Kingdom, particularly by highly skilled workers, will increase after 1992.
