§ Ms. RuddockTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if pupils at city technology colleges will be subject to any charges in respect of their participation in enrichment activities.
§ Mr. EggarCTCs may charge for enrichment activities provided outside school hours, so long as these are not an essential part of the curriculum. In common with maintained schools, CTCs may not charge for provision offered during school hours, with the exception of individual music tuition. These conditions are set out in paragraphs 19 to 22 of the model CTC funding agreement, a copy of which has been placed in the Library of the House.
