§ Mr. DorrellThere have been no recorded cases in this country of human infection caused by listeria ivanovi, and only a handful of such cases recorded world wide. Listeria ivanovi is known to occur in the environment, although it has been only very rarely found in food. A small proportion of animal infections is caused by this organism. The division of microbiological reagents and quality control at the PHLS central public health laboratory is involved in general research in listeria and routinely tests for listeria ivanovi.
