HC Deb 01 November 1990 vol 178 c775W
Mr. Viggers

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he has had any meetings with his ministerial counterparts from the other member states of the Universal Postal Union to promote co-operation and in particular to ensure mutual acceptability of postage stamps and obviate the need for air mail stickers.

Mr. Redwood

No, although my officials together with representatives of the Post Office regularly attend meetings with other member countries of the Universal Postal Union to discuss matters of mutual interest. However, the issue of postage stamps and the manner in which mail is exchanged internationally is an operational matter for the Post Office itself.
