§ Mr. LilleyThe proposal to exempt workplace nurseries from tax as a benefit will remove a perceived obstacle to the growth of such facilities. The measure will thus assist employers who wish to set up nursery or similar facilities and the employees who use them; but it is not possible to make a reliable estimate of the likely effect of this change on the number of women in the work force.
