§ 85. Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the steps he has taken to implement his undertaking to ban discharges of raw sewage into the seas and estuaries around the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Heathcoat-AmoryDiscussions are now under way between my Department and the National Rivers Authority, the Office of Water Services and the sewerage undertakers to work out the detailed arrangements for implementing our policy on sewage discharges. The sewerage undertakers are being asked to draw up investment programmes to give effect to the policy.
