§ Mr. BaldryI understand from British Nuclear Fuels plc that, at 31 March 1990, the quantity of irradiated fuel from United Kingdom and overseas civil reactors awaiting reprocessing at Sellafield amounted to some 700 tonnes of uranium as spent magnox fuel and some 3,500 tonnes of uranium as spent oxide fuel. Reprocessing of oxide fuel at Sellafield will start in late 1992 when the thermal oxide reprocessing plant is expected to begin commercial reprocessing.
