HC Deb 23 May 1990 vol 173 c185W
Mr. Fearn

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what research his Department is currently conducting, or intends to conduct, into the use of daytime motorcycle headlights as a conspicuity aid.

Mr. Atkins

[holding answer 21 May 1990]: The transport and road research laboratory has conducted a considerable amount of research into motor cycle conspicuity, with regard to both running lights, and to the riders' clothing. The results of this research have been reported in TRRL report LR1137 and, most recently, in a paper to the 1990 Society of Automobile Engineers conference.
