§ Mr. EggarIt is estimated that £88 million was spent on the sheltered employment programme last year and that £98 million will be available this year, excluding capital grants. The number of places supported in 1989–90 increased by 1,487 over the year. I do not expect there to be any significant increase in the number of places in the current year.
