HC Deb 21 May 1990 vol 173 c16W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Prime Minister what consideration she is giving to the implications for the level of co-ordination between Customs and Excise, the Defence Export Services Secretariat and the Department of Trade and Industry of the Iraqi gun affair.

The Prime Minister

On the arrangements for co-ordination between the Department of Trade and Industry and Customs and Excise in this area, I refer to the reply given on 25 April by my hon. Friend the Economic Secretary to the hon. Member for Bradford, South (Mr. Cryer) at column239.

There is also a high level of co-ordination, both formal and informal, between the Department of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Defence on matters relating to export control.

All these arrangements are kept under regular review.
