§ Mr. MacleanIn the public service it has long been the practice to advise staff of the problems that they may encounter when travelling to certain countries, particularly if the staff concerned may have access to classified information. This is for the protection of both Government information and the officers themselves. The guidelines are being reviewed in the light of recent changes in eastern Europe.
