HC Deb 21 May 1990 vol 173 c15W
Mr. Nigel Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what advice he is giving to local education authorities about school meals in connection with bovine spongiform encephalopathy.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 18 May 1990]: Education authorities have been advised of the range of measures adopted by the Government to protect the public from what is a remote and theoretical risk. They can continue to offer beef in school meals with complete confidence.
