§ Mr. David HuntIn March 1979 there were 85,000 employees in employment in primary industry (divisions 0 and 1 of standard industrial classification 1980) and 314,000 in manufacturing industry (divisions 2 to 4.)
The figures for December 1989 are 50,000 and 250,000 respectively.
