§ Mr. ChopeA consultation paper containing proposals for amendments to part B, "Safety in Fire", of the Building Regulations 1985 was issued in March this year. It includes a proposal that new dwellings not protected by an automatic fire detection and alarm system should be provided with one or more self-contained smoke alarms. Comments on the proposals in the consultation paper have been invited by 30 June.
