§ Mr. WaldegraveWe have no precise information about numbers of children from Namibia in children's homes abroad. However, we understand from press and other reports that there may be as many as 430 Namibian children in East Germany, 350 in Cuba and 60 in Czechoslovakia. We have no information about numbers of Namibian children in Zambia.
§ Mr. Nicholas WintertonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information 513W he has on the involvement of the South-West Africa People's Organisation in expatriating to children's homes in other countries which are sympathetic to its aims the children of Namibians who oppose SWAPO's policy and methods.
§ Mr. WaldegraveWe are aware of general allegations that Namibian children from families opposed to SWAPO may have been expatriated against their will. These allegations have been denied by the relevant authorities. We have no information about any specific cases.
