§ Mr. MacleanWe are consulting all interests concerned about the EC proposals for fresh meat and meat products in the single market. The views we have received indicate a wide degree of support for the principle of a single standard for all meat plants after 1992. However, the Commission's proposals contain some unnecessary restrictions on the composition of some products such as minced meat, which the Government will continue to resist firmly.
