§ Mr. MacleanI have specifically asked the Food Advisory Committee, as part of its current comprehensive review of food labelling, to address the question of whether particular methods of rearing or slaughtering animals should be indicated on food labels. The views of all interested parties have been sought and the committee hopes to report to Ministers with recommendations by the end of the year.
