§ Mr. Heathcoat-Amory[holding answer 11 May 1990]: My right hon. Friend and other Ministers have received many representations in support of his call on 25 March for reductions in excessive packaging, and for an enhanced effort to promote recycling by manufacturers, retailers, local authorities, voluntary groups and Government 430W Departments. We have also received representations from the packaging industry emphasising the economic and environmental advantages of well-designed packaging.
