§ Mr. RedwoodIn 1989, the United Kingdom exported £75 billion worth of manufactured goods, a 16 per cent. increase on 1988. The Government will continue to follow the macro-economic policies which have created a climate in which United Kingdom firms can prosper and increase their exports. The Government will also continue to provide direct support to United Kingdom firms seeking business overseas by providing a wide range of advice, information and assistance through the British Overseas Trade Board.
