To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether, following the meeting he had with the West Yorkshire passenger transport executive and others on 26 April, the authority has been asked to supply further information regarding electrification schemes between Bradford and Leeds; and if he will make a statement.

The West Yorkshire passenger transport executive was asked to supply further information on 1 May. We will consider its application for credit approvals for the scheme in the light of that information and the resources available.
