§ Mr. SainsburyI am informed that, after analysis of all available biological and commercial data, the Falkland Islands Government decided to close the fishery for illex squid on 10 May, three weeks early. I understand that this was necessary to meet their scientifically determined conservation goals. This should ensure that sufficient breeding stocks survive for future seasons. Effective conservation is the first priority for the management of the Falkland Islands interim conservation and management zone.
