§ Ms. ShortTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will introduce an age-related increase in the YT allowance for those aged 18 years and over.
§ Mr. NichollsThere will be no change to the value of the higher rate of the youth training allowance. The present level of this allowance represents a clear lead over the corresponding level of the income support for 18-year-olds which came into effect in April.
