HL Deb 09 May 1990 vol 518 cc1461-2WA
Lord Graham of Edmonton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will describe the strategic management of the prison disturbances, including the deployment of police and prison officers and the cost incurred.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

I would refer the noble Lord to the Statement made by my right honourable friend the Home Secretary which I repeated in your Lordships' House on 26th April. The full cost incurred in deploying police and prison officers to deal with the recent disturbances is not yet available.

Lord Graham of Edmonton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many inmates have been injured at each prison establishment affected by recent disturbances, and how many inmates remain in hospital.

Earl Ferrers
