§ Mrs. RumboldThe interim advisory committee on school teachers' pay and conditions foresees substantial gains in the self-confidence of teachers as the Government's education reforms are successfully introduced. The recommendations of the committee should significantly increase the attractiveness of teaching as a profession. My right hon. Friend announced on 5 April that he had decided to accept all the committee's recommendations, subject to some minor modifications. They will be implemented in full by 1 January 1991.
