Gastroenterology Few or no in-patients waiting more than one year for treatment. Rheumatology Urology General surgery IACC is examining waiting lists for these specialties, and advised that the appointment of a new consultant was not a high priority compared with other districts. Orthopaedics Ophthalmology Relatively small impact predicted on waiting lists compared with other districts and specialties. ENT Audiological medicines Consultant would work in out-patient and Community clinics and hence have no impact on in-patient waiting lists. Last year north Staffordshire received £92,000 from the sum reserved from the waiting list fund for districts with particular waiting problems. This sum was earmarked for the T&O, ophthalmology, ENT and gynaecology specialties. This enabled an additional 950 patients to be
