§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe sale or hire of flick knives and gravity knives is an offence under the Restriction of Offensive Weapons Act 1959. The sale or hire of a further range of spiked, bladed and other offensive weapons specified in the Offensive Weapons Order 1988 is an offence under the Criminal Justice Act 1988. These provisions apply irrespective of the age of the buyer, and my right hon. and learned Friend sees no need for further legislation.
