§ Mr. McNamaraTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps the Industrial Development Board and the Local Enterprise Development unit are taking to monitor the export performance of their client companies.
§ Mr. Needham[holding answer 1 May 1990]: Companies in receipt of assistance from the Industrial Development Board (IDB) and the Local Enterprise Development Unit (LEDU) are required to submit annual accounts as a condition of this assistance. These accounts assist the agencies to monitor the performance of these 559W companies including their overall sales performance both domestic and export. Both agencies are currently in the process of introducing new computing systems which will further facilitate the monitoring process.
