To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Ross, Cromarty and Skye of 21 March,Official Report, column 642, if he will ensure that payment of the claim for family credit dated November 1989 made by the Reverend and Mrs. John MacLeod of Ross-shire, about whom the hon. Member for Ross, Cromarty and Skye wrote to the Minister on 13 February and 13 March, respectively, will not be delayed by the appeal of the Department of Social Security to the Social Security Commissioners against the award made under the claim for family credit dated November 1988 made by the Reverend and Mrs. John MacLeod; and if he will make a statement.

The latest claim was decided on 22 March. An award of family credit was made and has been put into payment.
