§ Mr. RedwoodDuring 1988 the registrars of companies for England and Wales and for Scotland received copies of 9,167 auditors' notices of resignation under section 390 of the Companies Act 1985. These have been placed on the public files of the companies concerned. No information is readily available about the number of these notices which fall within the scope of section 390(2)(a), indicating that there were circumstances connected with the resignation which the resigning auditor considered should be brought to the notice of the members or creditors of the company.
