§ Mr. MaudeA special session of the committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Lisbon on 23 and 24 March discussed the Council's relations with central and eastern Europe. The United Kingdom was represented by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The conclusions of the meeting were wide ranging: a copy of a summary from the committee's chairman, the Foreign Minister of Portugal, has been placed in the Library. We will of course participate fully in the follow-up envisaged by the chairman's summary.
