To ask the Secretary of State for Energy how many complaints there have been regarding spillages or discharges of chemicals from North sea oil and gas installations over the last five years.

There have been no complaints concerning spillages or discharges of chemicals from North Sea oil and gas installations over the last five years.

However, following the Piper Alpha incident, several queries were received concerning the PCBs present in equipment on the installation.
