§ Baroness BlatchMy right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science has today placed in the Library of the House a paper summarising the student loans certification and application process. The academic institutions' role will be limited to making the forms available, identifying students and certifying their eligibility for loans and loan entitlement. Students will apply for loans direct to the Student Loans Company, through the post. The system is designed to ensure that loans reach eligible students with maximum speed and efficiency.
