HC Deb 21 March 1990 vol 169 c656W
114. Mr. Ian Bruce

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much money Dorset, South has received from his Department in recent years for the purposes of sea defence; and whether that money will increase as a result of the recent damage caused by storms.

Mr. Curry

Over the past five years, the Department has made payments totalling £3,230,127 in respect of grant to the authorities in Dorset, South for coastal defences. We have not yet received any representations about storm damage in this area but requests for grant aid for reconstruction of coastal defences will be handled in the normal way.
