§ Mr. MeacherTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many rebates have still not been paid to the personal pension schemes of people who opted out of the state earnings-related pension scheme.
§ Mrs. Gillian Shephard[holding answer 12 March 1990]: It is estimated that there are 15,500 individuals who are entitled to a rebate for their personal pension and where it has not yet been paid into their scheme. About 11,000 of these are expected to have a payment at the end of March. Investigations are continuing in the remaining cases to resolve discrepancies in the information provided by employers, and payment will then be made where appropriate.
