§ Mr. Chope[holding answer 19 March 1990]: When employing consultants, care is always taken to avoid potential conflicts of interest. It would not be acceptable to use, as a consultant on a matter relating to the Crown Suppliers, either a company which was bidding for the Crown Suppliers or an individual who was known to have a continuing relationship with a bidder.
